Diaries

Long before there were blogs, there were diaries...
Do you keep a diary?
Would you like other people to read it, for example, in a hundred years'time?
What would they discover about our society? Would it show the differences between our lives and theirs?

Have you heard of Samuel Pepys? (pronounced pi:ps)
He began his diary at a crucial point in Britain's history: the great Plague of 1665 was the last major outbreak of plague in England.
Between September 2nd and 5th 1666, the Great Fire of london destroyed much of the centre of London and thereafter the instances of plague reduced.

Have you read Anne Frank's diary?
She described 2 years of her teenage life during WW2.

Your task to be done by 26th February

Write a week's diary (300 words) about what's happening in the world and how it is affecting you.
You should write it in informal style as if you are speaking to someone.
Therefore use contractions and colloquial phrases you know.
